SNK has announced that footballer Cristiano Ronaldo will join the roster of its new fighting game, FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves, set for release on April 24, 2025. The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer revealing his inclusion.

In its announcement, SNK detailed Ronaldo’s career accomplishments to underline the significance of his inclusion. Across his career, Ronaldo has won seven league titles across England, Spain, and Italy, five UEFA Champions League titles, four FIFA Club World Cup titles, a UEFA European Championship, and a UEFA Nations League title, amounting to 34 trophies in total. He is also the first player in history to score in five consecutive FIFA World Cups.
On the individual honors side, Ronaldo has won the Ballon d’Or five times, the European Golden Shoe four times, and The Best FIFA Men’s Player award twice. SNK also noted that his combined tally of official goals for club and country has surpassed 900, the most in the history of men’s football.

FATAL FURY debuted in 1991 and became one of SNK’s signature fighting game series, helping drive the fighting game boom of the 1990s. FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves marks the first mainline entry in the series since Garou: Mark of the Wolves in 1999, arriving 26 years after that installment.
The new game introduces several features SNK has described as new to the series, including a distinct art style, a new “REV System” mechanic designed to build battle intensity, an evolved battle system, and two control styles intended to accommodate players from beginners to advanced users, alongside additional new functions and elements.
